Policy
RUET, as a public engineering and technology university established under the RUET Act and operating under the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, recognizes that its teaching, research, campus operations and community engagement all carry consequences for national development. This framework sets out RUET's commitments against SDG 1 to SDG 17, the actions it will take, the offices accountable for each action, and the evidence it will publish.
Scope
This framework applies to all students, faculty members, officers, staff, outsourced and contracted personnel, visitors and partner organizations, across the main campus, all halls of residence, academic and administrative buildings, laboratories, workshops, the Medical Centre, the Central Library, the canteen, and any premises owned, leased or operated by RUET.
Legal basis
This Framework shall be implemented subject to the Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology Act, 2003, applicable Statutes, Regulations and Rules made thereunder, approved admission and service rules, government orders, University Grants Commission requirements and other applicable laws. Nothing in this Framework creates a disciplinary offence, sanction, entitlement, procurement preference, admission criterion or decision-making power inconsistent with those instruments. In case of inconsistency, the applicable higher legal or statutory instrument shall prevail.
