The Manobotar Deyal invites the campus community to hang up clothing and everyday items they no longer need, so that anyone in need can simply take them.
RAJSHAHI — Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) hosts a “Manobotar Deyal” (Wall of Humanity) on campus — a practical, community-driven reuse initiative built on the philosophy “Give It, Don’t Bin It.”
Rather than discarding usable clothing and everyday items, members of the campus community are encouraged to leave what they no longer need on the wall’s hooks, so that anyone in need can simply take it.
The wall carries a simple message: “Leave your unneeded items — your small effort could be someone else’s smile — take what you need.”
By keeping usable items in circulation instead of the waste stream, the initiative directly supports SDG 12’s emphasis on reuse and waste prevention. It also contributes to SDG 1 (No Poverty) by putting goods in the hands of people who need them, and to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
RUET plans to expand the “Give It, Don’t Bin It” model to additional locations across the campus.
SDG Alignment: SDG 12 (primary); SDG 1; SDG 11.
