Dustbins across academic buildings, hostels and common areas feed a designated collection site outside the main campus, giving RUET a structured daily waste routine.
RAJSHAHI — Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) maintains a functioning, campus-level system for collecting and disposing of the waste generated by its academic buildings, hostels and common areas.
The system starts with on-campus collection points. Colour-coded dustbins are placed at regular intervals across academic buildings, hostels and common areas for the daily collection of waste generated by students, faculty and staff. These bins are the first point of collection before waste is moved for further handling.
From there, waste collected across the campus is gathered at a designated dumping and collection site located outside the main academic campus, where it is held before being transported for further disposal. A covered collection shed maintained by RUET serves this purpose.
The arrangement gives the university a structured waste-handling routine at the institutional level — and a single point at which waste leaving the campus can be recorded, a foundation for the quantitative waste reporting RUET has set as a future priority.
