Built around Reduce – Reuse – Recycle – Rethink – Refuse, the seminar urged the RUET community to say no to single-use plastics.
RAJSHAHI — Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) organised a seminar on the Reduction of Plastic Waste under the theme “A Clean Campus, A Green Future.”
The seminar was set for 15 August 2026 (Saturday) at 10:00 AM in the Central Auditorium, RUET, and was aimed at the wider RUET community.
It was built around a five-point framework — Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink and Refuse — with the tagline “Small Actions, Big Impact for a Sustainable Planet.”
Attendees were encouraged to say no to single-use plastics, to segregate and recycle responsibly, and to help protect the surrounding environment. The message reinforces RUET’s ongoing plastic-reduction practices, from paper files in offices to jute bags in student orientation kits.
Cutting plastic waste supports SDG 12 as well as SDG 14 (Life Below Water) and SDG 15 (Life on Land), while the awareness focus contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education).
SDG Alignment: SDG 12 (primary); SDG 14; SDG 15; SDG 4.
